Singleton Types

Edit single-instance content types like site settings or homepages without navigating grid views.

What this plugin does

The Singleton Types plugin changes how Flotiq handles content types that should only ever contain a single record — such as site settings, homepage configuration, global metadata, or an "About us" page. By default, Flotiq shows a content list grid for every type, which is confusing when there is only one object and editors have to navigate to it each time. With Singleton Types installed, clicking on a configured content type in the left sidebar takes the editor directly to the creation or editing form for that single record — skipping the empty grid entirely. If the object doesn't exist yet, the creation form opens; if it already exists, the edit form opens directly. This significantly reduces confusion for non-technical editors who don't understand why a list view shows zero items, and speeds up day-to-day editing of settings and global content. The plugin is configured by selecting which content types should be treated as singletons — all other types continue to behave normally.

Install in Flotiq

Follow these steps to get the plugin running in your Flotiq account.

Go to Plugins in the Flotiq sidebar

Select Plugins from the left sidebar in your Flotiq dashboard.

Enable Singleton Types

Click the + icon next to Flotiq singleton types plugin to install and enable it. The UI will reload.

Open plugin settings

Click Manage to open the configuration modal.

Select singleton content types

In the Singleton Types multiselect, choose all content types that should only ever contain one record (e.g. Global settings, Layout). These types will skip the content list grid.
