The Slug plugin automatically generates URL-safe slugs from any string field in your content type. It listens for changes in a designated source field - typically the title - and writes a cleaned, hyphenated version into a separate target field, keeping URLs consistent and predictable without any manual effort from editors. Once installed, a small refresh icon appears next to the slug field in the content editor. For new objects the slug field is filled automatically as you type. For existing objects, clicking the refresh icon regenerates the slug from the current source field value - useful after renaming or reorganising content. The plugin handles special characters, diacritics, spaces, and uppercase letters automatically, producing clean lowercase slugs that work reliably as URL segments. You can configure different source and target field combinations per content type, making it flexible across blogs, product listings, documentation, and any other structured content.

Follow these steps to get the plugin running in your Flotiq account.
Select Plugins from the left sidebar in your Flotiq dashboard.
Click the + icon next to Slug to install and enable it. The UI will reload.
Click Manage then click Add item to create a new config.
Content type - select the type to apply slugs to. Slug source field - the field the slug is based on (e.g. Title). Target field - the field where the slug will be saved (e.g. Slug).

Click Save changes. A refresh icon appears next to the slug field - new objects are auto-filled, existing ones update on click.
